SETTING IT UP
A test shoot is an experimental and collaborative project between you and myself to test new looks, equipment, etc. These are not advertising projects and images will be used in respective portfolios.
WHO YOU ARE
An athlete / model looking for lifestyle and action shots. Must be over 18.
1 - 5 photos that we can both use in our books.
GET IN TOUCH
Reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a test shoot. Please include "test shoot" in the subject along with your name, age, link to your instagram handle (or attach headshots), and a couple sentences on what you're looking to capture in the body of the email.
Some details about how the day will go.
Usually it's just me and you unless you or I have a stylist / makeup artist we're looking to work with that we can bring along too. However, I wouldn't expect this.
I do test shoots on the weekend and they usually require two weeks lead time so we can coordinate everything. Mainly we'll have to pick a location for where we'll want to shoot. I have some go-to spots, but I definitely want to hear if you know of any too. Test shoots are in New York City unless you know I'm going to be somewhere else -- which I'd love to do so shoot me a note.
Typically we'll be shooting for about 4 hours, around either sunrise or sunset when the light is best. You'll need to sign a model release before we start.
What happens after we shoot.
I'll pull selects from our shoot and send over to you to review and pick your favorites that I'll then retouch.
Retouching includes global exposure correction, color grading, blemish removal, skin contouring, skin tone correction, detail sharpening, background spot removal, and highlight/shadow recovery. The usual. Nothing I do is overdone, but you will look naturally flawless.
Getting the final photos.
Post production on a test shoot typically takes two weeks.
You are responsible for saving and archiving the photos for yourself once they are delivered.
The photos are for your book and can be used on your personal social media accounts. If a brand you work with wants to use them for advertising or editorial have them contact email@example.com to discuss terms.
